BBQ Rotisserie Chicken Wraps

These BBQ chicken wraps combine pulled rotisserie chicken with BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, pickles, low calorie Greek yogurt coleslaw, and high protein flatbreads. Each wrap is massive and has 49 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber with just 39 grams of carbs and 485 calories! You can prep them in 20 minutes or less and use them for healthy meals and snacks on the go or a quick meal for the family.

Making BBQ Chicken Wraps with Rotisserie Chicken

Here’s a look at everything you will need to make these wraps with a few tips for substitutions.

  • Pulled Rotisserie Chicken – Any leftover pulled chicken works here. I have recipes for Dutch oven BBQ chicken and slow cooker pulled chicken that would both work great as homemade options.
  • BBQ Sauce – I used a standard full-calorie BBQ sauce (Traeger ‘Que sauce) since the recipe only calls for 1/2 cup. You can use sugar free alternatives like G Hughes BBQ sauce to save a few extra calories and carbs.
  • Cheese – The recipe calls for cheddar, but any type of cheese would get the job done. And feel free to use either shredded or sliced cheese in your chicken wraps.
  • Coleslaw Mix – The recipe makes a mayo-free coleslaw using nonfat Greek yogurt, vinegar, dijon mustard, and honey. Each wrap only calls for an ounce of slaw, so if you have a go-to slaw you can skip the homemade option to save even more time.
  • Pickles – I used dill, but bread and butter pickles may work better with a different style/flavor of BBQ sauce.
  • Flatbreads or Lavash Bread – The recipe calls for high protein Joseph’s lavash bread, which you can find in Walmart, Kroger, and most grocery stores these days. For comparison, each one of these has 120 calories, 12 grams of protein, 16 grams of carbs, and 3 grams of fat.

Alternative Flavors for the Chicken

These rotisserie chicken breast wraps are the sixth recipe in a series of recipes using leftover rotisserie chicken, and it’s the first that uses the chicken cold mixed with a sauce. Most of the others combine the chicken with a sauce and then it’s broiled in the oven until caramelized and crispy. I think some of the other flavors would work great for wraps (broiled or not).

BBQ Rotisserie Chicken Wraps

Pulled rotisserie chicken with BBQ sauce, low calorie Greek yogurt coleslaw, cheddar, and pickles wrapped in a high protein flatbread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Rotisserie Chicken
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 6 oz Cheddar Cheese (or your choice of cheese)
  • 1/2 cup Pickles
  • 5 Joseph's Lavash Bread or Flatbread

For the Slaw

  • 12 oz Coleslaw Mix
  • 3/4 cup (170g) Nonfat Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Coarse Dijon Mustard
  • Pinch of Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix the wet coleslaw ingredients together before adding the coleslaw mix and folding everything together to evenly coat. Salt to taste and set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the pulled rotisserie chicken and BBQ sauce together.
  3. To each flatbread, add 4.5 oz (125g) chicken, 4 oz (112g) coleslaw, 1.25 oz (35g) cheese, and your desired number of pickles. Tightly wrap and slice in half to serve.

Notes

I used Traeger classic BBQ sauce (70 calories per 2 tablespoons) and shredded cheddar. You can use freshly sliced or shredded cheese of any kind, and you can find lower calorie BBQ sauce options like G Hughes to reduce the carbs and calories of your chicken wraps.

If you're not planning to serve multiple wraps or take the wraps on the go, I would store the ingredients separately and make the wraps fresh to prevent the flatbreads from getting soggy.
