10 High Protein Meals Using Trader Joe’s Knife Cut Noodles

Released in early 2023, Trader Joe’s knife cut style instant noodles took the internet by storm. And for good reason. They’re my favorite instant noodles, and I’ve been using them to make all kinds of high protein noodle bowls.

This collection of recipes will show you how to combine different proteins like extra lean ground turkey and beef or shaved steak and cooked chicken breast with veggies, creamy sauces, and lots of fun stuff.

1. Honey Garlic Chicken Noodles

Sticky sweet chili garlic sauce teams up with lean ground chicken breast and coleslaw mix to make simple deconstructed-dumplings-inspired noodle bowls.

2. Teriyaki Turkey Noodles

I’m a huge fan of Bachan’s Japanese barbecue sauce, and Trader Joe’s Soyaki sauce is a great alternative. These noodles combine extra lean ground turkey breast and pan roasted broccoli to make a 4-ingredient recipe that’s as easy as it gets.

3. Chicken Stir Fry Noodles

Trader Joe’s Just Chicken and other grilled chicken breast offerings in the prepared proteins section are perfect for stir fries. These noodles are made with a couple packs of knife cut noodles, Soyaki sauce, and half a package each of stir fry veggie blend and Just Chicken. Super easy!

4. Crispy Ground Beef Noodles

Modeled after the “potsticker noodles” trend, these noodles combine extra lean ground beef with pan roasted coleslaw mix and a super tasty hoisin sauce. The noodles have crunch from the veggies, big flavors from the sauce, and big dose of protein from the beef.

5. Gochujang Noodles

I broke some rules with this one and combined gochujang with blended cottage cheese to make a creamy gochujang sauce that’s combined with spicy beef crumbles and the knife cut noodles. It’s giving Korean-inspired Hamburger Helper in the best way.

6. Sesame Noodles

Mixing the sauce packets from the noodles with tahini creates a smooth and creamy sesame sauce. Adding spicy gochujang beef crumbles and herby cucumbers to the noodles makes a sesame-lovers dream noodle bowls.

7. Sticky Hoisin Steak Noodles

Trader Joe’s beef shaved steak is a must-try ingredient for any high protein diet. It’s so tender for steak with only 7g fat per serving. It’s also super easy to cook. This recipe cooks it in a hoisin sauce until it’s crispy and caramelized. Then the beef is combined the stir fried TJ’s Cruciferous Crunch mix and noodles.

8. Spicy Ginger Noodles

Bok choy and fresh ginger are the stars of this dish. The duo is stir fried with scallions and extra lean ground beef to create a texture-packed beef stir fry that pairs perfectly with the soy and sesame noodles.

9. Creamy Kimchi Noodles

The only meatless meal on this list (sorry, vegetarian friends) is another creamy situation like the gochujang noodles above. Blending kimchi and low fat cottage cheese together creates a sauce that’s combined with the noodles and fried eggs.

10. Thai Curry Noodle Soup

Trader Joe’s red curry sauce is a great shortcut ingredient for souper super flavorful broth. Add some extra lean ground turkey breast, lime, cilantro, honey roasted peanuts, and the knife cut noodles and you’ll have some HUGE (16 oz each) bowls of noodle soup. Great for staying full on a lower calorie diet!
