6 Recipes for High Protein Homemade Yogurt Melts: Chocolate, Birthday Cake, and More

These yogurt melts are a bit different than the toddler snacks you might find in stores. For starters, they’re more of a frozen treat than a dried fruit snack. Another big difference is the fact they have about 25 times more protein than regular yogurt melts. And as the title implies, these yogurt melts come in much cooler flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate peanut butter, and strawberry cheesecake.

Aside from freeze time, these yogurt melts take less than 5 minutes from start to finish and have super simple ingredient lists. As you can see below, it’s easy to prepare different yogurt melt flavors at once in bulk. Since there are six different recipes here, I’ll do my best to summarize any and all noteworthy ingredients or possible modifications before we get into the recipes next.

High Protein Yogurt Melt Ingredients

Your three constants in the recipes below will be fat-free Greek yogurt, protein powder, and stevia. For protein, I used my typical Gold Standard Whey from Optimum Nutrition. Feel free to use any protein you’d like, though. Since these yogurt melts won’t undergo any cooking, the type of protein used shouldn’t make much difference outside of nutrition facts. And as the recipes note, you can swap stevia for any sugar alternative.

Outside of those ingredients, the only other curveball might be the coconut flour used in the chocolate chip cookie dough and birthday cake yogurt melts. In the recipe, I note that you can use all purpose flour in its place, but you may want to play around with the exact amount. Start on the lower end (20g) and add to reach your desired consistency.

I think this is the shortest ingredient round-up and intro I’ve ever written, but that’s all you need to know. As always, if you have any questions, you can ask me on Instagram or shoot me an email.

One final thing: I recorded the quick video below so you can see the technique for cutting your Ziploc bag and how to best form each yogurt melt.
